Sims Medieval Unable To Start Game Mac 0x039e8474

After the Sims 3 launcher starts up and I press play, I receive the error 'Service initialization failed (0x0175d824)' and the game closes. I have been researching how to fix this for days and nothing has worked so far.
I've done everything on crinrict's 'error service initialization failed' list
I've tried all the suggestions from forums with the same error code
And I've uninstalled and reinstalled all of my games multiple times, and also tried uninstalling and reinstalling origin.
So basically I've cleaned out my cache of all the .package files, made sure my computer is up to date, origin is up to date, sims 3 is up to date, tried moving my Sims 3 folder from my documents/Electronic Arts, checked my registry, and tried changing my screen resolution to match the resolution in the options.ini
My game was working fine last week, and I've never used mods so it isn't because of those. I have a laptop that is made for high-end performance for modeling and animation, so I know it has the specs to run Sims. I've tried 'contact us' but have received no help. I'm finding it very frustrating that I've put all this money into games that don't seem to work, and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
I recently (a few weeks ago) bought a new macbook pro. I installed all of my sims 3 games through origin, installed the latest super-patch, and had no problems with that. However, when I try to start the game I get the error 'Cannot start the process when the game is running. Please quit the game and try again.' I have tried several times to start via launcher, I have tried bypassing the launcher, I have searched for a solution online and been in contact with EA support several times. All they tell me to do is applying the patch and reinstall Origin, but nothing works. The game just won't start.
When I searched online I saw a lot of people posting about this problem in 2012, but no one had any solution other than trying to play the game offline (I've tried that too). Does anyone remember how it was solved three years ago? Or have any tips on how I can solve it now?
I have an:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)
2,7 GHz Intel Core i5
8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
I know the graphics card isn't supported, but that doesn't really matter when i can't start the game at all.
My old mac was an macbook pro mid 2009, with 4GB memory. Don't remember what processor, but it was worse than what I have now. It ran sims 3 ok+, it wasn't perfect, but it ran well.
Can anyone help me?
