Game Save Files On Mac

Transfer saves files from PC to Mac. Though The Sims 4 doesn’t support Origin cloud storage, transferring your save files between the PC and Mac versions of the game is easy. On your PC, first open My Computer and go to the Documents folder. Go to Electronic Arts, then The Sims 4 folder. Oct 20, 2011  If it was a simple upgrade your saved game should still be there. If you did a clean install and redownloaded Braid, you'll have to launch the game once to get that folder generated. Then you can. Game Save Files On Mac Download

Hello,
I have several flash-based games (.swf) stored on my macbook, each seems to have some kind of a save file: if I make progress in the game and then quit, I'll not lose the progress if I return to the game.
However, If I move the game (the whole folder directory) to another location, everything will be lost. Move it back, everything will be restored. Same thing with renaming the parent folder where the game resides.
So I was wondering, is there a way to 'back up' this mysterious save files? I didn't see anything resembles separate save files, though.
Any insights? Thank you for your time

    Hello,
When you get your new computer, download and install the PC version of origin onto your computer.
Your sims 4 game is linked to your origin account. You can log into origin using the same account that you used to register the game, then go to my games section, go to the sims 4 picture and download/install it there. Then click the little 'i' button that is next to the play button. That will take you to a screen that shows you what game packs, stuff packs and eps you own. Go to the pack sections, and you can then download/install them there.
Make a copy of the 'saves ' ' tray' ' 'custom music' and ' screenshots' folders from your old computer that is in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder and place it on an external drive.
Then after installing the sims 4 game onto the new computer, play the game once to generate a new sims 4 folder.
Your saves folder contains your save games and the tray folder contains your lots and households that you have uploaded to your library or have downloaded from the community gallery. Replace the saves, tray, custom music and screenshots folders that are in the new sims 4 folder with the same folders that are on your external drive. You will then have your old save games and creations etc on your new computer.

  • Everything has gone well so far but when I tried to put my CC back into the Mods folder I can't even open the game. I tried to take the CC folders out one by one to see if it was a particular file that was the culprit but it seems like having ANY CC at all is making the game unable to open. Is there something I'm doing wrong or will I have to re-download all my CC?
    Thanks for any help!
  • Hello
Move your mods folder that is in the sims 4 folder to the desktop. Start the game , and a new mods folder will be generated. Exit the game. Then put your mods/CC into the newly generated mods folder that is in your sims 4 folder. Make sure that there is only one resource.cfg file in the mods folder. Then try to launch the game and also test to see if the cc appears in your game.

  • I tried that but after I put the mods from my old game into the folder I can't open the game at all... I tried re-downloading a mod to test it and I could open my game. So I'm wondering if I have to just re-download them all on the new computer? (I'm glad I didn't let myself go too crazy with CC before this...)
  • I am sorry that you have this issue. Do you have many cc items? If you don't have too much, it may be best to redownload the files again.

  • I'm going to suck it up and re-download. So far it seems to be working and it will help me think about which ones I really want to keep, LOL!

I hope that the redownloading of the mods/cc goes okay
